Element Leasing was established in 2004. According to Expert RA's rating the company is one of the TOP-20 leasing companies with the largest volume of new business in Russia. An extensive regional network and technologies enable the company to serve clients in any Russian city. Financing the acquisition of automobiles made by the GAZ Group is one of the company's main lines of business. The company is one of the top five largest companies in the segment of freight motor transport.

Element Leasing became the first Basic Element company to receive an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) loan in 2007; and, in November 2009, one of the sector's first companies in the post-crisis period to obtain a Sberbank loan. Other major creditors of the company include the Russian Bank for Development, Soyuz Bank, MDM Bank, Zenit Bank and Globex Bank.
On December 15th 2010, Standard&Poor's confirmed the ratings of the Russian company Element Leasing - long-term "B-" and short-term "C" on the international scale and "ruBBB-" on the national scale, with a rating prognosis of "stable".
